Growing up as an only child was wonderful. I know, not the normal response, but I LOVED it. Since I was with my mom (who was a teacher) during a majority of the day, I learned early how to conduct myself properly around adults. Pretty useful for the future. Surrounded by planning materials and schedules, it was inevitable that an organized, planning mindset would stick.

Having no brothers or sisters, I got comfortable with solitude. I had time to reflect (even though I didn’t realize how crucial that was back then). But even though I had a solo childhood, I had close family.

My cousins were (and still are) what I like to call, my Summer Sisters. They are the ones that absorb my vents, cheer me on, dance silly with, and cry with me. Every time we meet it’s full of fun and laughter and love. Last month was no exception, they help me live my best life.

Support systems are so important. Whether it’s family or friends, it’s necessary to have someone – or some people – you can rely on. Who do you have in your corner helping you live your best life?

Living my best life.
